Daisy Hortense Coulter Adams Jenkins was born April 30, 1916, and departed her earthly home on July 23, 2008, in Tollette, Ark. Mrs. Jenkins, a former teacher in Howard County and Springfield, Mo., has touched many lives while ministering for Jesus. She was a member of various clubs and organizations. Not only did she spread her message here in the United States, but she took her message abroad to countries such as Canada, Old Mexico, the Bahamas, West Indies, Germany, Greece, Jerusalem, Italy and Africa. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Adams; her son, who died as an infant, Lonnie Lee Adams; her second husband, Rev. J. Vance Jenkins; and step-son, Bobby Jenkins. She leaves her loving generous spirit to cherish with step-children, Joyce (Vonell) Knight, Fern Nash and Ammon Jenkins; six step-grandchildren; sister, Angie Crofton of Tollette, Ark., whom Mrs. Daisy spent the last four years with; brother L.C. Coulter of Mineral Springs, Ark.; brother D.D. Coulter of Lockesburg, Ark.; and sister Hazel Johnson of Hot Springs, Ark.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at 9 a.m., in Washington Avenue Baptist Church, 1722, N. National Ave., Springfield, Mo., with a service to follow at 10 a.m., under the direction of Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Midtown. Dr. Maurice Tate will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.klingner-cope.com.
