Funeral services for Armand J. Wilkie, 87, who died Tuesday at the Chehalem Nursing Home, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Brown Memorial Chapel.

The Rev. Don Stram, pastor of the First Christian Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Orville Mick, brother-in-law of Mr. Wilkie.

Interment will be at Friends Cemetery.

A native of Thamesford, Ontario, Canada, Mr. Wilkie was born Aug. 31, 1885. He married Ella Sophia Johnson at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, Oct. 14, 1910.

He farmed in Canada until 1929, then went into the poultry raising business until 1935.

He moved to Newberg in 1937, working here as a carpenter until his retirement.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Aldon J. (Lefty) Wilkie, Newberg; a grandson, Arnold J. Wilkie, Denver, Colorado; a granddaughter, Barbara Haines, Lake Oswego and two great granddaughters.
