Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt & friend Wilda D. Howell, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2009 at the Crestwood Care Center in Ogden, she was 86.

Wilda was born January 31, 1923 in Treasureton, Idaho to Mayle Lorenzo Hebdon and Selena Pearl Dutson Hebdon. She was reared & educated in Weston, Idaho and graduated from Weston High School with the class of 1940.

On June 26, 1941, she married her one & only love Gene Howell in the Logan L.D.S. Temple.

She was a faithful member of the Ogden L.D.S. 49th Ward where her association and friendships meant a lot to her.

Wilda was a homemaker and her family and extended family were her greatest source of joy & comfort.

She & Gene traveled to Europe, Canada and across the US, and these were happy times, but their happiest journey was through 591/2 years of an especially close, loving and happy marriage. Gene preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 2000 and she has missed him greatly.

She is survived by her children, one son, Ron (Marguerite) Howell, Uintah, 2 daughters, Gloria (George) Peterson, Roy, & Sharon (David) White, Indianapolis, Indiana, 10 grandchildren & 26 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers-in-law and their spouses and many nieces & nephews.

Wilda's family would like to thank the staff at Crestwood Care Center for the kind and loving care they gave our mom.

A special thanks to Applegate Hospice. Becky & Rachael, we couldn't have gotten through this without you. Thank you so much. And an extra special thank you to Kelly who was also a special friend to mom. She loved you all very much.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
