Ann Skolfield was born 6 June 1859 in Brunswick,
Maine. She and her brother John lived in their father's house on Mere Point and their house is near the site of the home of Thomas and Anne Anderson Skolfield. Lumber from the old house was used in building the cottage by Jacob Skolfield, Jr., whose widow sold it to her brother-inlaw Benjamin Chase Skolfield. Ann was a teacher in her young days and then homemaker for her father and brother after her mother's death. Her obituary reads: "Miss Ann Skolfield, Brunswick's Oldest Citizen, Dies at 104." It continued, "Miss Ann Skolfield, 104, Brunswick's oldest citizen, died late Sunday at a Topsham Nursing Home. Until last year, when she was taken ill, she had always resided in the family homestead on Mere Point Road, built by her grandfather, Jacob Skolfield, a ship builder. She was born here June 4, 1859, the daughter of Benjamin C. and Susan Blake Skolfield. Educated in the Brunswick Schools, she taught for several years at Mere Point and Middle Bay School. Most of her life was devoted to keeping house, and such Ann Skolfield 1859 - 1963;

Ann Skolfield hobbies as raising flowers and making braided rugs. She was keenly interested in the affairs of the community, state and nation and kept herself informed through the newspapers and radio. She had a wide circle of friends, many of whom were summer residents with whom she corresponded regularly." She died 27 October 1963 in Topsham, Maine, and was buried in Maquoit Cemetery in Brunswick,
