14th Air Force Headquarters, China. April 17. Bombardier Raymond E. Craft of Clifton Forge, VA is the champion ship buster on the 14th Air Force, which in seven months- May 24 to Dec 31- sank over 300,000 tons of enemy merchant and naval vessels. Craft's record stands at 12 merchant ships, totaling 41,000 tons, one cruiser, and one destroyer sank. He is credited with probably sinking four merchantmen and damaging another.
