Adam came to America with his wife Anna Marie Weiss and 7 children in 1846 landing in New Orleans. They came up the Mississippi River to St. Louis and then on to Mason County Illinois in the summer of 1847. They settled in Long Point(Bishop) where his brother Peter lived. Adam and his wife became members of the Evangelical Association and 4 of their sons became preachers there. Adam's first wife Anna died in 1866 and he remarried Appolonia born May 7 1812 and died June 18 1883.
