ANN ROSLYN WEST (Nee Pealer), 75, of Elyria died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at her home. She was born November 8, 1931 in Cleveland, graduated from Orange High School and attended Ohio Wesleyan University. She graduated from Ohio State University in 1954, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She taught kindergarten in Avon Lake and then was employed at Travelmart for 15 years in Elyria and Westlake.
She was a member of Lorain County Historical Society, Friends of the Library and the Metropolitan Club of the Y.W.C.A. and had been a 20 year volunteer at EMH Regional Medical Center and served on the Hospital Auxiliary Board.
She weas a former member of the Elyria Jaycetts and the Junior Woman's Club.
Mrs. West was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ where she was a former deaconess and Sunday school teacher and started the first Sunday school for special needs at the church. She enjoyed spending the summers at their residence in Ely, Minn.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Harold Archie West, daughters, Laurie (Terry) Doan and Sharon (Greg) Elek, both of Elyria; a son Scott (Donna) West of Columbus; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Mary (Nee Porch) Pealer.
Visitation will be 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondy at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Congregationa United Church of Christ, 330 Second Street, Elyria, with the Rev. Glenn Loafmann officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
