Essie G. Trueblood, 99, of Terre Haute and formerly of Prairie Creek died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday in Westridge Nursing Home. She was a retired cook for the former Candelori/Davis Restaurant. She was born Aug. 10, 1892, in Fairbanks to Bluford Welsh and Savanah Romine Welsh. Survivors include one daughter, Annetta Galloway of Terre Haute, one sister, Thelma Johnson of Terre Haute; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. She was a member of the War Mothers of World War II and the Fairbanks Methodist Church. Services are 10:30 a.m. today in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with the Rev. Leonard Fletcher officiating. Burial is in Pogue Cemetery at Fairbanks.
