PERSONAL HISTORY: Mrs. Baxter was born in Lincoln County to the late Dewey and Essie Houser Crowder. She retired as a seamstress from Bernhardt Furniture. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
SURVIVORS: Her husband, Hill Beam Baxter; a son, Tim Baxter of Shelby; two daughters, Penny Shaw and husband, Stan, and Tamra Horn, all of Shelby; a brother, Tom Crowder of Hickory; two sisters, Edna Callahan and Ruth Brittian, both of Hickory; and eight grandchildren, Angelica Shaw, Jessica Stallings, Sara Horn, Alex Horn, Preston Baxter, Kelli Baxter, Courtney Baxter and Jared Baxter.
