Patient Found Dead
An Oregon State Hospital patient was found dead Monday night in his maximum security ward room, a hospital spokesman said today.
Brian Michael English, 33, of Ashland, apparently hanged himself with his belt from the doorway of his room about 10 p.m., and was pronounced dead by a staff physician at 10:23 p.m., Francis Smith, a spokesman for the hospital, said.
Smith said English was committed to the hospital for evaluation Jan 20 on a court order from Jackson County.
English's survivors include his mother, Genevieve English, of Ashland.
