John Edward Sprick, age 95 of 2915 S. 8th St., died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 7:55 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.
He was born September 14, 1913 in Davenport, IA the son of John Bernard and Sadie Sprague Sprick. On June 10, 1933 he married Wilma Steffen in Ft Madison, IA. They celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary in 2008. She survives.

He was employed for 45 years at Black White Limestone Company now J.M. Huber and retired in 1978 as Quarry Superintendent. He had a lifelong love for hunting and fishing and enjoyed bowling for many years.

Survivors also include his daughter, Judy Daniels and husband Russ, daughter-in-law, Lynn Sprick, and grandchildren, Suzanne Harmann, Christine Spohr and husband Greg, John Scott Sprick and wife Polly; great-grandchildren, Christopher & Nathan Harmann, Alexandra and 2nd Lt Rebecca Spohr, Katie and Trevor Spohr, Scott and Tyler Sprick. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Wayne Sprick on April 30, 2009.

Services: 11 am Tuesday at Greenmount Cemetery with Rev. Ivan Greuter officiating.

Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
