Anna Maurine Sanders, 86, retired teacher, died of heart failure Saturday, August 17, 1996, at University Medical Center in Jackson.

Services were Tuesday, August 20, at the Weir, MS Presbyterian Church with burial in the Weir Cemetery.

Mrs. Sanders, a Weir native, graduated from Mississippi State College for Women, now Mississippi University for Women, in Columbus in 1931. She taught in Maben and Heidelberg before marrying Robert Sanders in 1938.

She managed school cafeterias in Bay Springs, Waynesboro, Marks, and Batesville before retiring in 1969. She had lived in Jackson since 1976 and was a member of Weir, MS Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert and one daughter, Jane, both of Jackson; a neice, Lynn Richards of Nashville, TN and one nephew, Robert E. Hunt of Little Rock, AR.

Memorials may be sent to the Weir, MS Presbyterian Church or to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, 4395 South Drive, Jackson, MS 39209.
