Dora J. Beery 92, of Decatur, passed away Monday June 23, 2014 at Ossian
Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on March 16, 1922 to the late Walter
and Berniece (Burger) Wilkinson in Portland, Indiana. Due to the death of her
parents at an early age, Dora and her three siblings were raised at
Mooseheart Home for Children. On July 5, 1946 she married Donald W. Beery
he passed away on January 8, 2013.
Dora was a homemaker, and a member of the Moose Lodge #1311 in
Decatur.
She is survived by three granddaughters Stacey (Steve) Lee, Steph (Jeff)
Brite, and Shelley Ortiz all of Decatur, one brother David Wilkinson of
Summerville, NC., four great grandchildren Zach and Jessica Lee and Allie
and Connor Brite.
Dora was preceded in death by her first husband Roy Hopper, one son
David Beery 1997, one daughter Sandy Ortiz 1999, one grandson Tony 1966,
one brother Harry and a sister Phyllis.
Visitation will be held on Thursday June 26, 2014 from 4-7 pm at Haggard
Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home a Moose memorial service will follow the
visitation at 7:00pm on Thursday. Funeral services will be held on Friday June
27, 2014 at 11:00 am also at the funeral home. Pastor Dan York will be
officiating. Burial will take place at Decatur Cemetery.
