A 1960 graduate of Warren High School, he served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. For 40 years he was employed by Pennco Inc. division of ECR International as general manager. He was a charter member of St. John's Lutheran Church, past president of the Warren County Industrial Management Club, the Russell Parent Teacher Association and Eisenhower Music Boosters. He also coached girls softball.
An avid golfer, outdoorsman and photographer, he raised Christmas trees and loved to travel. He was devoted to his family and adored his granddaughters.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Penelope Hanson Highhouse, whom he married Feb. 21, 1971, in Jamestown; four daughters: Deborah Atkins of Tomball, Texas, Melissa Mattison of Palmyra, Pa., Dori Highhouse of Jamestown and Lori Manelick of Clarendon, Pa.; two granddaughters: Abigail Manelick and Margaret Atkins; and a sister, Patricia Hendrickson of Youngsville.
