Lois Elizabeth Highhouse, 89, of 1 Acorn Lane, Russell, Pa., died on Friday, May 23, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Highhouse was born October 29, 1918, at home in Limestone Twp., the daughter of the late Roy and Addie Mae Kitelinger Snavley.
A life long area resident, Lois was a 1938 graduate of the Warren High School. She was a Charter Member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and a faithful member there. She worked for the G.C. Murphy Company in downtown Warren for many years, retiring in 1965.
Lois enjoyed gardening, the flowers, the trees and nature in general. She enjoyed crafts for decorating her home inside and out. She loved to travel the New England States and spending the winters in Florida with her husband.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Hendrickson and her husband, Bill, Youngsville, Pa.; a sister, Dody Peterson and her husband, James C., Pleasant Twp.; a daughter in law, Penny Highhouse, Russell; and six grandchildren, Michael Hendrickson, Pittsfield, Krista Tuttle and her husband, Gary, Youngsville, Lori Highhouse, Russell, Dori Harshaw and her husband, Ashley, Russell, Debbie Atkins and her husband, Jim, Arizona and Missy Mattison, Hershey, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis F. Highhouse, whom she married in Warren on September 28, 1940, who passed away on July 5, 2002; a son, Bruce Highhouse in 2004; and a brother, Lyle Snavley in 2000.
