Services were held in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home chapel Monday afternoon for Mrs. Ida Huckaba, 83, who died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital on Saturday, August 23. The Rev. Floyd Brower conducted the service and burial was in Maple cemetery.
Mrs. Huckaba was born in Clifton, Tenn. January 27, 1875, and came to Braggadocio with her parents, Ben and Betty Phillips, when she was about eight years old.
In December, 1909 in Braggadocio, she was married to Sylvester Huckaba, who passed away in 1912. Three daughters, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Huckaba lived in Braggadocio until about three years ago when she moved to Caruthersville to make her home with a daughter, the late Mrs. Daphon Scott. She was a member of the Church of the Living God.
She leaves a brother, Jack Phillips, of Hayti; a sister, Mrs. H.D. Long, of Braggadocio; and five grandchildren.
