Funeral Service For Oldest Resident
Mrs. Jessie L. Newton, Oelwein's oldest resident died Tuesday at Quam's Nursing Home. She was 101.
Her funeral will be Thursday, November 18, at 2 p.m. at Brant Chapel with Rev. Warren Paige officiating. Burial will take place in Dunham Grove Cemetery, rural Randalia.
Survivors include a foster son Dean Merrill, Oelwein, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Newton was born August 8, 1870 at West Union and had lived in Oelwein for several years.
