George Franklin "Frank" BABCOCK, 88, 129 West Fourth street, died at 9 p.m. Sunday in Woodlawn hospital where he was admitted Saturday. He had been ill several months. Born April 2, 1883, in Fulton county, he was the son of Andrew and Sarah BABCOCK. His first marriage was to Elizabeth K. THEISEN in 1903. She preceded in death in 1917. His second marriage was in 1921 to Eva BARBER. She died in 1965. A retired Armour employee, he had resided in this area most of his life. He was a member of the Manitou Moose lodge. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth SEE, Logansport, and Mrs. Grace HOWARD, LaPorte; one son, Leon D. BABCOCK, South Bend; a step-son, Harold BRYANT, of South Carolina; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded in death. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. The Rev. Laurence SMITH will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.
