Mrs. Eiline Katherin Ihnken Brauer, 86. widow of J. H Brauer and a resident of Del Rio for 50 years, died Tuesday morning at 10:29 o'clock in her home 208 East Broadway, after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Theo Francis O.M.I. officiating. Interment made in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Doran Funeral Home. The Rosary said Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock in the Doran Chapel by Father Francis.
Mrs. Brauer was born October 4, 1851 in Castroville. she was married to John Henry Brauer in 1870 and the family came to Del Rio in 1888. Mr Brauer died in Del Rio in 1911. A daughter Mrs. Nora B. Horn died in 1935 in San Antonio and was buried in Del Rio.
Survivors include two sons, a daughter, six grandchildren, three sisters and a brother. The sons are Louis D. Brauer of Del Rio and Martin D. Brauer of San Diego, Cal., the daughter is Mrs Bertha Brauer Griffin in San Antonio. The grandchildren include Henry Horn, Edwin Louis Brauer, Joan Brauer and Mrs John Thomas Mayfield of Del Rio, Norma Mae Brauer and John Martin Brauer of San Diego, Cal. The sisters are Miss Louise Ihnken of Castroville, Mrs Mary Rinehart of Sabinal and Mrs Joe Dwyer of El Paso, the brother is Louis Lhnken of Castroville.
