Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Helene Margaret Goris Summers, age 85, of Lyman, and formerly of Murray, Utah, died on June 10, 2009 in Loa, Utah, after a short illness.


She was born December 14, 1923, a daughter of William and Jean Marie Bennie Goris of Bingham Canyon, UT.


She married Joseph Albert Summers on March 27, 1946 in Elko, NV. He died on January 19, 1974.


Helene was an LPN at Cottonwood Hospital for many years, until her retirement. She loved to needlepoint, read, and work crossword puzzles.


She is survived by her children: Dann and Linda Summers of Lyman; Michele and Charles Brown of Henderson, Nevada; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She had one other son, Bill Summers of San Felipe, Mexico. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers: Mary and Dick Kern of Sylvania, Ohio; Frances Boliger of Peoria, Arizona; Jim and Ruth Ann Goris of Salt Lake City; John and Kathy Goris of Spokane, Washington; David and Sandra Goris of Glendale, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jean Goris; her husband, Joe Summers; brothers and sister: Bill Goris, Paul Goris, Bob Goris, Chris Goris, George Goris, and Catherine Gray.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary Chapel, 6500 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville. Friends may call for a viewing in the Lyman Ward Chapel in Lyman, Utah on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary Chapel on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
