Mrs. Lena Elizabeth Morris, age 77, known as Granny Morris to her many friends of all ages, passed away at the home of her son, Hugh Lee Morris, in Roanoke last Sunday morning, Nov. 30. She had been in a coma since Thanksgiving day.
Mrs. Morris was born in Ponotoc County, Mississippi. Her husband, the late Hugh Lee Morris Sr., preceded her in death many years ago. She was a good mother and a good neighbor.
Mrs. Morris is survived by her son; three grandsons; three sisters: Mrs. Toy Short of Toccopola, Miss., Mrs. S. F. Abney of Benton, Miss., Mrs. John H. Salmon of Ponotoc, Miss.
Funeral services were conducted from the residence Monday afternoon by Rev. E. L. McFee. Interment was in Cedarwood Cemetery, with Quattlebaum in charge.
