Byrd Keeble Dies Suddenly Today:
Byrd Keeble died suddenly this morning about 7:30 at the home of T. O. N. Sikes in the Springfield community. Mr. Keeble was doing some farming there and while drawing water for his mule is thought to have had a heart attack. As he fell his forehead struck the edge of the tub, and when he was found, his head was in the water in the tub.
He was well known throughout this section, having served on the police force of Roanoke and other towns nearby. He was 49 years old and was living in Roanoke on East Main Street.
He is survived by the widow-; two sons: Curtis, of LaGrange, and Earl, of Fairfax; a daughter, Mrs. Gordon Cook, of Fairfax; four grandchildren, four brothers: Jim, of Arkansas, Jerry and Pierce, of Roanoke, and Bob, of Wehadkee.
Funeral services will be conducted at the First Christian church, Maple Drive, Thursday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock by Rev. H. M. Gray and Rev. G. D. Hunt, and burial will be in the city cemetery, Quattlebaum directing.
