Mrs. Joe Adams, age 45, passed away at her home on Handley Avenue at six oclock Thursday morning, January 18. Mrs. Adams, the former Lillian Hill, was born in Langdale, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hill. Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, January 20, with the Reverends Earle Trent, Charles Ferrell, E. F. Daniel, and W. W. Lankford conducting. The pallbearers were Robert Horn, Roy Williamson, Elbert Couch, Owen Shelnutt, B. O. Barnes Jr., and Albert Goude. Internment was in Cedarwood Cemetery under the direction of Quattlebaums Funeral Home. Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband; five sons: Bobby, Carl, Frank, and Fred of Roanoke and Bibb of Talladega; two daughters, Miss Betty Adams of Howard College and Mrs. Mary Joe Hornsby of Falfurrias, Texas; four grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Eugene Hill of Roanoke; five brothers: Carl, Bill, Douglas, Oren, and Hedrick Hill of Roanoke; and four sisters: Mrs. Sanford Turner of Roanoke, Mrs. Brewer Thornton of Talladega, Mrs. Woodrow Caldwell of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Thurman Noles. of Roanoke. Among those from out of town attending the funeral of Mrs. Adams were: Mr. and Mrs. J. C. McGee, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Suell, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hale, Mrs. Belton Adcock, Miss Alvis Canady, Sam Canady, and Mrs. Thelma Shaw of Langdale; Willard Hiss of Shawmut; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bledsoe, Son Hill, Bud Hill, Mrs. Nina Ray, Mrs. Marie Banks, and Mrs. Eugene Wallace of River-view; Mr. and Mrs. Horace Norton, Mrs. Leola Adams, and Mr. and Mrs. Mayland Bishop of Gun-tersville; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brown of Gadsden; Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Evans of Hogansville; Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. Denny Laney of Columbus; and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Barrett of Opelika.
