Discharged for disability Nov. 15, 1861, Benton Barracks (St. Louis,) Mo. He was admitted to the Iowa Veterans Home April 9, 1888. He was the 140th soldier admitted to the new facility. He is buried at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery.
