"Christine Elaine Morris "Hunt" Freeman, died February 26, 2014 at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb, from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in Summit. Dr. David Millican and Rev. Justin Woulard will officiate.

Mrs. Freeman was born December 25, 1923, at Reform, Choctaw County, Mississippi, to Herod Fondren Morris and Lillie Catherine Franklin Morris. Her father passed away when she was one year old, leaving her mother with six girls. Shortly after her father's death, her mother contracted tuberculosis and was placed in the hospital at Sanitarium, Mississippi. Christine and three other sisters were placed with the Methodist Children's Home in Jackson, MS. When she was ten years old, Mr. and Mrs. James Ivey Hunt of McCall Creek, MS took her to live with them at which time, Christine took Hunt as her last name.

She graduated from Independence High School in Franklin County, MS, as Valedictorian of the class of 1941. She was very active in the school reunions since graduation.

In 1940, in Mississippi, she met her future husband, and on June 30, 1942 at Camp Roberts near Sam Miguel, California she married Staff Sergeant James Floyd Freeman of Lincoln County, Mississippi. They lived in neighboring Paso Robles.

Mrs. Freeman was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in McComb. She was an active member in all activities as long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Miriam/Alpha Sunday School Class and a member of the B.A.L.L. Club. During her earlier years, she taught Sunday school classes ranging from the primary department to juniors, intermediates and adults. She dearly loved her church and loved music. She played the piano and organ and had served as assistant organist at Central Baptist Church. She also had served as organist for Montgomery Baptist Church in Lincoln County for twenty-two years and organist for Hartman Funeral Home in McComb for ten years.

Mrs. Freeman was employed as an inspector for six years with Kellwood Manufacturing Company before becoming manager of the T.W.L. store in Summit. She was there for ten years before retiring in 1976, due to health problems.

She was preceded in death by her parents, foster parents, husband, one brother and five sisters.

She is survived by one son, James F. Freeman, Jr. of Hattiesburg and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends."
