Pioneer Woman Answers Last Call
Lucinda Rockholt-Burgett-Davis
Death called Mrs. Lucinda Davis Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Thompson near Sutter City. She was 82 years of age and a native of Missouri. She had been ill for sometime and her death was not unexpected. Deceased leaves to survive her, three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Perry of Sutter City, Mrs. Lena Charge of District 70, Mrs. Rhoda Page of Stockton, a son, William Burgett of Lower Lake, and a sister, Mrs. W.B. Gilmore of Richmond.
Mrs. Davis crossed the plains by ox team in 1857 and settled in Sutter county. She was related to the original propagator of the Thompson seedless grape.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at the Methodist church, Sutter City. Interment to be made at the Sutter City cemetery under the direction of the Bevan Funeral Home of Marysville.
