In China and vicinity the diptheria is prevailing extensively.
Mr. Jason Dodge lost five children within the space of ten days, all under 16 years. Funeral services took place on Sunday, the 8th inst.,when all the bodies were entombed together.
Two more children are sick with the same disease. {Kennebec Journal}
