Evelyn Moore Moody, 90, of Alpharetta, Ga., died June 22, 2009, at Peachtree Christian Hospice.

Born in Worth County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Eurella Moore. A longtime resident of Panama City, Fla., Mrs. Moody also is predeceased by her beloved husband, James Gerald Clyde Moody.

Mrs. Moody taught elementary school full time from the time she was 17 years old until she retired 30 years later. She obtained a degree at Florida State University while she was teaching. She remained a member of Delta Kappa Gamma throughout her life.

She then became a full-time housewife and mother of two children. Mrs. Moody was an active member of the Baptist church, beginning during her married life at First Baptist Church of Panama City. She then joined Beecher Hills Baptist Church when the family moved to Atlanta. In her later years after her husband passed away, she moved back to Panama City and again joined First Baptist and remained actively involved until the year 2000 when she moved back to Atlanta to be near her children. Her final days found her membership at Bridgeway Christian Church in Alpharetta, Ga., where she remained as a homebound member until her death.
