He was born August 11, 1972 in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was raised in Amherst and graduated from Marion L. Steele High School, Amherst in 1992. Robert received a certificate in Law Enforcement and Security from Lorain County Joint Vocational School in Oberlin.
Robert was currently a sergeant for the Lorain Police Auxiliary. He had been an officer for the past eleven years and was also employed as a bus driver for First Student in Sheffield Village. He was an active member of Operation Open Heart. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
He will be dearly missed by his son Robert Dennis, Jr. of Oberlin and his daughters Carol Ann Dennis and Breanna Boyce both of Oberlin; brothers Randall and his twin brother Raymond Joseph Dennis both of Lorain, George Dennis of Kipton and John Link of Elyria; sisters Suzanna Larges and Rebecca Godsey both of Oberlin; his foster mother Ava Pozega of Amherst; grandmother Shirley Lucas of Elyria and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Velma Link and foster father John Pozega.
His family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. Reverend Lee Stull, pastor of Kipton Community Church will officiate his funeral service, Wednesday, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
