She was born in Dugger, on Sept. 17, 1919, the daughter of Herbert Pigg and Effie Mason Pigg.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Farmersburg, most of her life she lived in Farmersburg, where she worked on the family farm for 32 years, later moving into town.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert Pigg, and Rex Pigg; and one sister, Ruby Meier.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Wilbur R. Royer; four sons, William R. Royer (Debbie) of Washington, Ill., Donald R. Royer (Karen) of Dayton, Ohio, Allen D. Royer (Peggy) of Greencastle, and Kent W. Royer (Angie) of Williamsburg, Ohio; one daughter, Joan Jennings (Ronald) of New Palestine; two sisters, Leola Daniely of Indianapolis, and Audrey Bradbury of Sullivan; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at the United Methodist Church in Farmersburg, with the Rev. Don Ransford officiating. Burial is in Westlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Banks and Brust Funeral Home, 400 N. Court St., in Sullivan. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Farmersburg United Methodist Church.
