Violet E. Davis, 83, of Columbus died at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Extenda Care Center.
She was a homemaker and member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Vernon Jewell-Nick Rittman Funeral Home with Timothy McConnell officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Jennings County.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Bartholomew County or South Central Indiana Chapter of Alzheimer's Association.
Born Sept. 16, 1915, in Jackson County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of Burt and Ruby Marling Bannister. She married Harry "Barney" Milliard Davis Nov. 30, 1932. He died in March 1980.
Survivors include sons, Gary Davis of Columbus and Jackie, Norman and Larry "Barney" Davis, all of Seymour; a daughter, NaLana Sue Fields of Seymour; brothers, Gerald and Johnny Bannister, both of Crothersville; a sister, June Moody of Scott County; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Emil and Kermit Bannister.
