Oswald O. PALMER, 85, Rt. 5, Rochester, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion. He had been a patient three months and had been ill for three years. Mr. Palmer was born Jan. 24, 1896 in Tiosa to James and Emma OVERMYER PALMER and lived his entire life in the Tiosa community. He married Mable R. SHELLY in St. Joseph, Mich., on Dec. 6, 1920; she survives. He was retired, an army veteran of World War I, and held a lifetime membership in the Rochester American Legion, of which he was a member for 62 years. Surviving with the wife are three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Norene) BILLISITZ, North Miami Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Robert (Lois) BURNS, Marion; and Mrs. Dale (Esther) WALSH, Rt. 1, Rochester; two sons, Norman PALMER, Livermore, Calif., and Floyd PALMER, Argos; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carmen KATH, Tiosa, and Mrs. Orval (Doris) LONG, Phoenix, Ariz; and a brother, Cecil [PALMER], Commerce, Calif. A son, a sister and a brother preceded in death. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home with the Rev. F. G. KUEBLER officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Center I.O.O.F. Cemetery, where the American Legion will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the service on Monday.
