Patty Virginia Reed, 59, of Ravenswood departed this life June 26, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, following extended battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born October 25, 1949, in Ravenswood and was a daughter of Lucille Vaun (Wilson) Mahan of Ripley and the late Russell Daniel Mahan.
She was a member of the Cross Roads Community Church, Sissonville. She enjoyed collecting glass shoes and crosses and lawn and gardening.
In addition to her mother, other survivors include her husband, Everett Paul Reed of Ravenswood; son, Everett P. Reed Jr. of Ravenswood; daughter, Mary Reed of Ravenswood; brothers, Daniel Mahan of Lubeck, Dave and his wife, Brenda Mahan, and William and his wife, Joyce Mahan, all of Ravenswood, Robert Mahan of Parkersburg, and Scott Mahan of Morgantown; sisters, Mary and her husband, Jerry Hall, Joan Jones, and Sharon Williams, all of Ravenswood, and Rita and her husband, Follie Rhodes, of Lubeck; several nieces and nephews including special nieces, Bobbie Sowards and Brittany Jones; sister-in-law, Pat Reed, and a special friend, Melissa Freeman.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Allen Mahan and Timothy Russell "Red" Mahan; an infant sister, and three infant brothers.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Jerry Bonnett and the Rev. Rob Ely officiating. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood.
Visitation will be prior to service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
