Mrs. Corfman grew up in McLean County, Illinois, graduated from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas, and in 1892 moved to Utah to teach school. She married Elmer CORFMAN on June 8, 1898, at the First Congregational Church in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had two daughters: Aileen (b. 1905, m. BAXTER) and Jessie Elizabeth (b. 1909, b. OTTENSTEIN). She was active in the Utah Federation of Music Clubs, serving as President. She also was active in the Utah Federation of Women's Clubs and served as President, and she was a member of Eastern Star. Mrs. Corfman was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson J. LOAR and his wife, Sade M. FRY.
