Wilfred (Bill) Berger, age 68 of Tours, passed away Monday morning, June 27, 1994 at his residence.

Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Martin's Catholic Church, with Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin's Cemetery, Tours.

Mr. Berger was born February 28, 1926 in Tours and had lived in Tours all of his life. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. He was treasurer of the St. Martin's Cemetery Association for a number of years, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2305 of West. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of the V.F.W. Post #4819 of West. Mr. Berger was employed by Mrs. Baird's Bakery in Waco for 42 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the L.T.G. Water Supply for a number of years.

He married Dorothy Mae Uptmor July 29, 1945 in Tours.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mae Uptmor of Tours; two sons, Gary Berger and Stephen Berger both of Tours, one daughter, Denise Reid of Sacramento, California; two sisters, Stella Pavlicek and Doris Bennett of Tours and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Jesus of Divine Mercy Bookshop in West.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Pustejovsky, Walter Geisler, Jr., Gregory Pavlicek, Michael Berger, Doug Dulock and Dennis Dulock..

Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
