Christine A. Petersen was born on October 26, 1897, in Tyler. Her parents were Didrick and Ann (Jensen) Brown. She was baptized and confirmed at Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler, and also attended Tyler Public Schools.

February 27, 1924, she married Soren Petersen at Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler. After their marriage the couple farmed near Tyler. In 1930 they moved south of Lake Benton, where they farmed until retiring and moving into Lake Benton in 1964. She had been in the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler for the past year. Christine was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid of the church in Lake Benton. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Lake Benton and The Birthiday Club in Lake Benton.

September 29, 1988, Christine A. Petersen died at the A.L. Vadheim Memorial Hospital in Tyler at the age of 90 years, 11 months and three days.

Funeral services for Mrs. Petersen were conducted by Rev. Robert Rendahl at Grace Lutheran Church, Lake Benton at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 3.

Diane Evers served as organist and the congregation sang, "Amazing Grace", 'Beautiful Savior" and "How Great Thou Art".

Casketbearers were Brent Bressler, Dale Petersen, Chris Bressler, Mark Bressler, Glen Petersen and Dan Peach. Burial was at Danebod Lutheran Cemetery, Tyler. Utoft-Johansen Funeral Home, Robin D. Walls, director, made the arrangements.

She is suvived by a son, Lloyd Petersen and his wife Mary, Lake Benton; one daughter, Joyce, Mrs. Lee Bressler, Lake Benton; nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Soren, in 1969; a sister, Johanna Schnell, and three half brothers.
