Harry L. Heins, 65, of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 21 at his home of Multiple Systems Atrophy.
He was born October 1, 1943 in Riceville, son of Harry L. and Genevieve Foughty Heins.

He married Sherilyn Brown December, 1967 in New Hampton. They later divorced. He married Jeannie Rindels January 20, 1996 in Waterloo.

Harry graduated from Riceville High School in 1963 and was a U.S Army veteran, serving in Viet Nam.

He was employed with John Deere for 30 years, until his medical retirement.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Serena Heins of Dallas, TX; a step-daughter, Carrie (Jim) Bartlett of Waterloo; a step-son, Christopher (Emily) Rindels of Roland; a brother, Wayne (Ardith) Heins of Waterloo and two sisters, Lois (Bob) Thompto of Manly and Barb (Delmar) Austinson of Osage.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31.

Public visitation will be for an hour before services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, specifically for MSA Research.
