Bernice Cora Moen Peterson was born March 31, 1917 in Hamilton, North Dakota and died June 25, 2009 in Port Angeles, Washington. She was one of the twelve children of Andrew and Oline Moen. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Magnor. She had been a Vancouver resident since 1949, living in the once rural Lake Shore area.
Bernice tended her family, home, gardens and orchard.
She always had vegetables, fruits, cookies
and flowers to share with friends and neighbors.
We are thankful for all the years we had her love.
She was a life long Lutheran and charter member of the Messiah Lutheran congregation.
Bernice is survived by daughters, Bonnie of Maryland (Bill); Barbara of Arizona (Mel); and son, Mack of Port Angeles (Debra); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Seim of North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to Glenwood Place Senior Living for their care the last few years.
Her funeral will be Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Messiah Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m., which is located at 905 NW 94th Street, Vancouver WA 98665. Internment will be in the Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA were her beloved husband is buried.
Memorials may be sent to Messiah Lutheran Church, care of the Bernice Peterson Memorial.
