Mr. David Martin of Clarence Center, died last Friday forenoon, April 25, 1902. He was born in Lancaster County, Pa., Feb. 11, 1823, and was aged 79 years, 2 months and 14 days. He came with his parents to Clarence Center in the fall of 1832. He was married to Catherine Leib, dec. 1, 1848, who survives him, with six children-Emanuel of Stracuse, Neb., Henry of Newton, Kan., Mrs David Kurtz of Mount Morris, Mich., John L., Orlando and Mrs. Peter Williams of Clarence Center. Mr Martin had been in failing health for several years past, but it was only a short period before his death that he was confined to bed, suffering from a paralytic stroke. He was a good man, highly respected by all, a worthy citizen, and leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. In early life he joined the Mennonite church, of which he was a faithful member, and in practical life he cherished and endeavored to conform to a high ideal of christian character. The funeral, which was largely attended, was held last Monday morning from the United Brethen church at Clarence Center, Rev. S. F. Coffman of Vineland Ontario offciating. Burial in the Clarence Center Cemetery.
