Ray J. Caldwell, age 68, of Alloway passed away Wednesday in South Jersey Hospital, Elmer. Born in Madison County, North Carolina he was the son of the late William J. and Julia Wilson Calwell.
Mr. Caldwell was chief custodian for the Pennsville Township Schools retiring in 2003 and he also worked at Mannington Mills for 19 years. He was faithful to his church and a devoted family man and husband.
Mr. Caldwell is survived by his wife, the former Libby Aborn; his son, Daniel Ray Caldwell of West Deptford; his daughter Susan Lynn Ayars of Alloway; brother, Glenn Caldwell of Dunn, NC; his grandchildren, Anthony J. Ayars, Mellisa E. Caldwell, Sadey Ray Handy and Shane I. Handy; and many nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Eva Lee Jones, Mamie Sutton, Pauline Perez, Faye DuBois, Bonnie Rich, Charles Caldwell, John Caldwell and Arnold Caldwell.
Services will be held 12:00 noon Monday, June 9th in Tri-County Lighthouse Baptist Church, 149 West Deerfield Street, Route 540, Deerfield where friends may call after 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Alloway Methodist Cemetery.
