WILSON, Jr., A Herbert "Herb" Born June 6, 1925 in Pasadena, Calif. Passed away June 23, 2009 in Lancaster, Calif. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Frances, children Sandy Macy and her husband Len, Randy, Candy, and Andy and his wife Beverly, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grand children. Herb and his family moved to Palmdale in 1955. He is best known for his years of service to the community, most notably for the 35 years of owning and operating Wilson Ambulance Service. He was very honored to have his son Andrew carry on his tradition and follow in his footsteps serving his community as co-owner of Antelope Ambulance. He was an honorary Lifetime member of the California Ambulance Association, member of Los Angeles Ambulance Association, a member of the Palmdale Elks Lodge for 52 years, and an active member of various organizations throughout the Antelope Valley. Herb also served his country in the United States Navy Sea Bees. He will best be remembered to those who knew him well for his crazy antics, nicknames, and practical jokes. If you had the pleasure to have met him you will certainly never forget him. His family loved him dearly and he will be greatly missed. To honor Herb the family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Herbs name to the Shriners Hospital for Children (2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL, 33607) or the ASPCA (aspca.org, 1-800-628-0028). Visitation will be held from 9am to 10am with funeral services to begin a 10am both on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary Palmdale.
