Gary Scott Ingle, 63, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 in Birmingham, AL.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 at Port City Church of God with Rev. Mylan Brookins officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Decatur County Sheriff's Officers serving as active pallbearers. Full Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard from Ft. Benning.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home.

Gary was born June 21, 1946 in Seattle, WA, and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a retired Staff Sergeant with 25 years of service as Fire Chief in the Search and Rescue Division of the U. S. Army, served 8 years with the Decatur County Sheriff's Office, and retired as Lt. Warden of Decatur County Correctional Institute. He was a member of Port City Church of God. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Alta and C. L. Wood.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Ingle of Bainbridge, GA; three sons, Gary Scott Ingle, Jr. and his wife Sheri of Bainbridge, GA, Tim Ingle and his wife Tabitha of Bainbridge, GA, and David Ingle and his wife Aimee of Blakely, GA; his daughter, Tina I. Bridges and her husband Taylor of Blakely, GA; his sister, Janet I. Martineau and her husband Ronald of Moncks Corner, SC; and 14 grandchildren.
