The Mass of Resurrection for Anna Frances Bourne, 93, of New Albany, will be said at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eighth Street, Jeffersonville, today, Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. She was born in Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia, on Aug. 16, 1915, to Henry Tchinski and Martha Lipinski Tchinski, both Polish immigrants. She was the youngest and last surviving of six children. She graduated high school in Fairmont and business college in Charleston, W.Va., then served as a receptionist to a medical doctor until her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Bourne were married in Charleston, W.Va., in 1935, moved to Louisville in 1941, and then to Charlestown in 1944, where they lived on Marshall Drive and Monroe Street until 1961, when they moved to Jeffersonville. At the time of her death she lived at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany where she received professional and loving care. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and Mr. Bourne met in a church drama group, and she sang in talent reviews and church choirs as a young person. She was an expert seamstress, a quilter, a volunteer for many causes, enjoyed drawing and oil painting, and read avidly. She was a devout Catholic and had many close friends from her years as a member of St. Michael Parish in Charlestown, and of Sacred Heart Parish in Jeffersonville. She is survived by her children, Maryknoll Sister Martha Frances Bourne, James Edward Bourne and wife, Linda, Mary Elizabeth Bradley and Joseph Charles Bourne and wife, Paula; her daughter-in-law, Pauline Bourne (Mrs. Ralph W. Jr.,); nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ralph W. Bourne Sr., in 1998 and her oldest son and oldest child, Ralph W. Bourne Jr., in 2005. Visitation at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, was Monday, Aug. 4, from 2 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to the Maryknoll Sisters; P.O. BOURNE - Anna Frances, 93, died Friday, August 1, 2008. Frances was born in Fairmont, WV, on August 16, 1915, to Henry Tchinski and Martha Lipinski Tchinski, both Polish immigrants.
