Beverly M. "Sis" Kieffer, 69, of 1313 O'Hagen St., passed away at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, surrounded by her family.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Grand View United Methodist Church, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday. The Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
Beverly was born on Jan. 15, 1940, in Dubuque, daughter of Donald Jerome and Lela Mae (Close) Feipel. Beverly was a lifelong resident of Dubuque.
She married Edward Kieffer on Aug. 29, 1959, at Grandview United Methodist Church, where they were members for 50 years.
She was a member of the Grand View United Methodist Women and taught Sunday School at Grand View for more than 40 years. Beverly and Edward were foster parents for many years and fostered more than 100 kids.
Beverly was a cancer survivor for more than 23 years.
She enjoyed crafts.
Surviving are her husband, Edward H. Kieffer, of Dubuque; her children, DeeAnn (Scott) Borth, of Ocala, Fla., Doug (Gala) Kieffer, of Apika, Fla., and Jennifer (Larry) Mosley, of Waterloo, Iowa; her mother, Lela (Art) Tigges, of Dubuque; two brothers, Richard (Pat) Feipel, of Dubuque, David (Doris) Feipel, of Dubuque; a sister, Barb (Roger) Schueller, of Sherrill, Iowa; her grandchildren, Danielle and Dustin Borth and Natasha and Nakisha Mosley.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Feipel.
