Wedding: Bernice Rittberger to Kuno Broeckert

Yesterday (Wednesday) morning at Oregon, Illinois, the marriage of Kuno Broeckert, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Broeckert from here (Kiel) was married to Miss Bernice Rittberger from there. The wedding took place in the home of the bride’s sister. The newlyweds will spend Thanksgiving in Chicago, at the home of the bride’s brother and then they will go to Mt. Carmel, Illinois where they will live. Mr. Broeckert is partner with Mr. Bernhard Greve from New Holstein in a hardware store there.

Kuno Broeckert, 50, former Kiel merchant, died suddenly at his home in Keokuk, Iowa, following a heart attack yesterday afternoon,
The body is being brought to Kiel and funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Meiselwitz funeral home, with interment in the New Holstein cemetery. Mr. Broeckert was born in Kiel the son of the late Justice of the Peace William Broeckert. He operated a furniture store in Kiel several years before moving to Iowa. He is survived by his widow, two children, and his mother, Mrs. William Broeckert, of Keokuk.

KEOKUK, Iowa. — Kuno J. Broeckert, 51, president and sales manager of the Bowman-Boyer company here for the past year, died suddenly Wednesday in his home, 1509 Exchange Street. Mr. Broeckert came here with his family from Cedar Rapids a year ago to assume charge of the local firm.

He was born in Kiel, Wis., September 11, 1891, and was married at Oregon, IL, on November 25, 1914, to Bernice Rittberger.

Surviving besides his Widow is one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Tierman; a son. Donald Broeckert, and his mother, Mrs. Johanna Broeckert, all of Keokuk.

The body will be taken Friday to Kiel, Wis., for funeral services. Died April 8,1942 Fort Madison Evening Democrat April 9, 1942
