Mrs. Henry Biermann died at her home in the village, December 25, 1908 at 3 o'clock of heart failure at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 10 days. Her maiden name was Barbara Rauch and she was born in Rosfelden, Wuenertemberg, Germany on February 15, 1836. She came to this country with her parents and settled in the town of Sheboygan in 1850. At the age of 20 she was married to Henry Biermann. They moved to New Holstein after the Civil War and settled on a farm two miles west of the village. Eight children were born to them, six sons and two daughters which were present at the funeral. In 1903 they moved to this village on account of being well advanced in years. Mrs. Biermann was beloved by those who knew her best. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services being read at the St Johannas church by Rev. Schildknecht. Six sons acted as pallbearers.
