New Holstein -- Alvin Albert, 69, a resident of New Holstein and nearby communities most of his life, passed away at his home here last week Thursday morning after a lingering illness.
Born in Horicon June 4, 1877, he came here in his youth to work at a creamery owned by his brother, Ferdinand. Subsequently he worked for the A. A. Laun Lumber Company, and for the past 37 years he has been a farmer in the town of New Holstein.
He married Miss Emma Timm of Chilton on June 24, 1903, and the couple resided at Kiel and in Chilton several years before coming here.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Gordon, of Neenah; a daughter, Mrs. Edward Strum, Kirkland, Wash.; four grandchildren, two brothers, Theodore of Withee, and Adolph of Vesper, also a sister, Mrs. W. W. Lauson, New Holstein.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home and burial took place in the New Holstein city cemetery. The Rev. R. Seidler, pastor of St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church, officiated.
