Nola Crews Drury, 94, of the Winokur Community died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 17, 2003 in the Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick after a short illness.

The lifelong resident of Charlton County was a charter member of the Winokur Baptist Church, and will be well remembered for always helping others. She was the daughter of Bryant "Buddy" Crews and Nancy Johns Crews.

Her husband and dear companion for many years was the late Patrick H. "Pat" Drury. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Alene Johns, Elenee Drury and Winnie Mixon; a grandson, R. H. Crews; a great grandson, Jacob Crews; five sisters, George Ann Crews, Lydia Rowell, Elmina Crews, Thelma King and Sarah Ann Johns; three brothers, John, Harley and Oswell Crews.

Survivors include two daughters, Clarine "Bet" Johnson (Eddie) of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Maude Herrin (J.E.) of the Riverside community; 16 grandchildren, Bud Johns, Pearl Eller, Verna King, Nell Hickox, Sue Sweat, Butch Johns, Dean Johns, Pattie Tinsley, Ann Horn, Jesse Crews, Hannah Meadows, Karen Stokes, Kim Johns, Patsy Byrd and Charles Byrd; 33 great grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from the Winokur Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Manning and Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial followed in the family plot at Corinth Cemetery in Charlton County.

Pallbearers were Charles Byrd, Jesse "Topper" Crews, Jamie Sweat, David "Bean" Johns, James "Juk" Johns and Elvin Horn.

Arrangements were made with the Chambless-Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta, GAl
