Roy L. Matthews of Blandburg died May 1, 1995 at the Altoona Hospital. Born April 9, 1908 in Mountaindale, he was a son of Walker R and Annie (McHugh) Matthews. He retired from Harabison Walker Refractories in Blandburg after 30 years of employment, and then from Condrin Oldsmobile and Cadillac in Altoona in 1973. Surviving are four sisters: Colletta Sackett, Charlotte Matthews, Elda Gubash, and Beth Peacock. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Miller, whom he married on June 24, 1939, in Hollidaysburg, and who died on Sep 5, 1990; four brothers: Lloyd, Clyde,Edwin, and John; and two sisters: Marie and Natalie. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. (Clearfield Progress, May 2, 1995)
