Loretta Margaret LaPan, 96 yrs, of Manton, MI, formerly of Deerfield and Kingsley, died Wednesday, June 24th in Traverse City, MI. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Monday from 1-9 PM, where there will be a Scripture Service at 7 PM. She will lie in state Tuesday from 10-11 AM at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Deerfield, where the Mass of Resurection will be at 11 AM. Fr. Jack Loughran and Fr. Ken Landry will officiate. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Deerfield.



Born October 13, 1912, in Deerfield, Loretta was the daughter of Gilbert and Addie (Benore) LaVoy. She married Charlie LaPan in 1935. He died in 1980. She then married Bill Webster. He died in 2003. Mrs. LaPan was owner and operator of the Triple K Kennel's in Kingsley, where she raised and sold German Shepards.



Margaret was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Deerfield, where she was a member of the Mother's Club and the Altar Society. She also loved to make jeweled christmas trees.



Survivors include: six sons, Gerald (Lorene) LaPan, of Corbin, KY, Daniel (Joan) LaPan, of Garden City, MI, Paul LaPan, of Temperance, MI, Michael (Arlene) LaPan, of Misick, MI, Joseph (Julie) LaPan, of Manton, MI, Thomas (Gina) LaPan, of SC; six daughters, Juanita (Red) McMahon, of Deerfield, MI Kathleen (Ken) Chmielewski, of New Port Ritchey, FL, Rita (John) Johnson, of Manton, MI, Carolyn (Jack) Rayner and Renee (Dave) Berens, both of Laurel, MS, Loretta Ann (Bill) Szur, of Novi, MI; fifty-one grandchildren, sixty-three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, six brothers, Father Lambert LaVoy, Clayton (Theresa) LaVoy, Elwood LaVoy, Lawrence (Rosemary)LaVoy, Bernard (Florence) LaVoy, and Emmanuel LaVoy five sisters, Cecelia (Robert) Reaume, Sister Marie Lambert (Sarah) LaVoy, Sister Pauline Mary (Esther) LaVoy, Sister Marie Gilbert (Eva) LaVoy and Madonna (Norman) LaVoy.
